Biography
Katia Vitale is a contemporary landscape photographer and painter with a background in Art Direction & Graphic Design. She attended the studio of Swiss Artist Fausto Corda for over ten years and studied photography and painting at Franklin University Switzerland, under the guidance of British artist Brian Stanford.
She has recently refined her technique at the International Center of Photography in New York.
Photography and painting are Katia’s response to the timeless beauty observed in the natural world. She captures unique fleeting moments that occur as mutable elements interact, to visually express the essence of colour, form and the varied texture of the impermanent landscape.
By exploring the tension between representation and abstraction, she is continually intrigued by that minimal correlation that provides the viewer with a new perception of space. Her central theme is the interweaving of memory and imagination.
Making photographs and paintings are fundamental aspects of the creative process for her experimentations. Her works are now part of private collections in Switzerland and abroad.
